Painting based on photos and plein air work in the South Carolina lowcountry specifically of a sunrise on Braddock Cove off of the Calibogue Sound. All was still and quiet with the rising sun illuminating the marshes as the sun quickly rose on hot and humid June morning. I was able to catch this moment en plein air on a couple of different small paintings which helped inform this larger studio piece.
