Darling Dahlias, plein air still life
Darling Dahlias, plein air still life
oil on flat linen panel, 24” x 20”, thin gold floating frame (not pictured)
My friend has a beautiful cutting garden, and she kindly supplies me with flowers to paint. Her dahlias are especially paint-worthy. From my last visit, she sent me home with a large bucket of dahlias. The next day I decide to paint them, but rather than set-up inside, I decided to paint en plein air so that I could get shadows from the flowers on the tablecloth. A few days later, I made a few minor changes in the studio
The painting is framed (not pictured) in a gold floating frame.
