Alleyway Flowers
Alleyway Flowers
12” x 9” on flat linen panel
I regularly go on walks around our Ginter Park neighborhood located in Richmond’s Northside. The homes built around the turn of the century are beautiful and each one unique. Even the alleyways can be lovely with fences and flowers. This one in particular caught my eye, so I made note and returned later in the week to paint the scene. I was especially drawn to the fact that much of the scene was in shadow, but the 10 am summer sun was shinning through lighting up some of the flowers and fence, which made a lovely subject.
